What US tech employers are actually asking for

Every month we read 457,191 live US job postings straight from 64,697 employers’ own careers pages — not from a jobs aggregator, so nothing is counted twice — and publish what they ask for: the skills, the years of experience, the pay where it is stated, and how many roles are genuinely open to someone starting out.

Free to read and to cite. Where the data is too thin to support a number, we say so instead of publishing one, and every limitation we know about is written down — including the ones that make our numbers look worse.

By role

What the job needs, what it pays, and how much of it is open to entry level.

By skill

Which roles ask for it and what those roles pay — the question worth answering before you spend three months learning something.

By location

What the market looks like where you are, or where you are thinking of going.
