Huntr review (2026): a great free job tracker, but does it apply for you?

Updated

We make Apiva. Read this knowing that.

Everything about Huntr here comes from their pricing page, their help centre, a post on their own blog, their Chrome Web Store listing and Trustpilot, all checked on 17 October 2026. Prices change, so click through before you pay either of us.

Is Huntr legit?

Yes. The Chrome extension is published by Huntr LLC, and Huntr's claimed Trustpilot profile gives a Seattle address. People rate it well. On 17 October 2026 the extension showed 4.6 out of 5 from 1.3K ratings and 90,000 users, and Trustpilot had it at 4.5 out of 5 from 21 reviews, labelled Excellent.

Cancelling is self-serve. Their pricing FAQ says you don't need to contact support, Pro stays active to the end of the period you paid for, and then you drop to the free plan with your data intact. There's no free trial. We couldn't find refund terms on the pricing page, so ask before you pay if that matters to you.

The short version

Huntr is a job tracker first. Its browser extension fills in application forms from a profile you build, and on the free plan that's unlimited. You still check each form and press submit yourself.

With Apiva you approve a job and our AI fills it in and submits it, with your résumé tailored to that role. Paid plans charge a monthly fee up front, and a credit from your allowance is only used once the submission is confirmed. A stopped attempt is marked "Will be retried" and uses no credit. 25 applications a month are free, no card.

Pick Huntr if you want a strong free organiser and you're happy pressing submit. For most people with more jobs than time, getting the application actually sent matters more, and that's where Apiva is better.

What Huntr does well

The tracker is the heart of it. You save jobs to a board and, in their homepage's words, "drag-and-drop jobs you've applied to to the interview section." The free plan also has a Chrome job clipper and a map view, and contact management is unlimited.

The extension reads your Huntr profile and fills the employer's form from it. Their pricing page lists unlimited application autofills on free. The listing calls it a "one-click quick apply feature".

Pro adds the AI side: unlimited tailored résumés, cover letters, résumé reviews and application packets, plus unlimited job tracking. The free plan caps tracking at 100 jobs.

Does Huntr apply for you?

No, and Huntr is the one saying so. In a comparison post on their own blog, the FAQ asks "Does Huntr apply to jobs for you automatically?" The answer starts "Huntr does not auto-apply." It goes on to say it uses guided autofill "while keeping the user involved before submission."

That's an honest design, and plenty of people want to see every field before it goes. It does mean the work after autofill is yours. You open the posting, check each field, answer anything it couldn't fill, press submit, then save the job to Applied.

There's a limit worth knowing, from their help centre: "When a job site does not allow our extension, this autofill section will not populate any information." You find out which sites those are by trying.

What you get with Apiva

You approve jobs from a feed built from a corpus of 50,000+ US company career pages, rescanned on a daily cycle. You can paste a link to any US job you found elsewhere, too. Only the jobs you approve get applied to.

Our AI fills in the form and rewrites your résumé for that role from your real experience. You can look at what changed before it's sent.

Now and then a form wants an answer only you have. The app shows it as "Needs your answer". Reply, and it carries on from there.

When a submission is confirmed, a confirmation is saved against it that you can open later.

Huntr pricing (checked October 2026)

From their pricing page on 17 October 2026:

Plan Price What it covers
Free $0 Up to 100 tracked jobs, unlimited autofills, a few AI credits
Pro monthly $40 a month Unlimited tracking and AI tools
Pro quarterly $90 every 3 months ($30 a month) Same as monthly
Pro biannual $160 every 6 months ($26.66 a month) Same as monthly

Their FAQ says plainly, "There is no free trial." Free users get a small number of AI credits, and Pro is needed once those run out.

Apiva pricing

Plan Price Applications a month
Free $0, no card 25
Starter $19 / month up to 200
Pro $39 / month up to 600
Scale $99 / month up to 1,500

Paid plans bill the monthly fee up front. All tiers are the full product and differ only in volume. Quarterly prices ($49, $79 and $239) are published, but quarterly billing isn't open yet. Credits reset monthly and don't roll over. Cancel any time and you keep the plan until the period ends. A part-used month isn't refunded. See the pricing page.

On Starter, an application can cost you as little as about 10 cents, if you use all 200 credits that month. Use fewer and each one costs more.

Huntr's free plan deserves its own line, because it's generous. Unlimited autofills and 100 tracked jobs for nothing. If you want to fill 300 forms this month yourself and pay nothing, Huntr wins that outright.

When Huntr is the better pick

You want a proper organiser. The board and its contact management make a long search easier to run. Ours is lighter.

You want to pay nothing. Unlimited autofill on the free plan is about as good as free gets in this space.

You want to see every field before it goes. If you'd rather not let software answer a screening question, autofill you check yourself is the safer habit.

When Apiva is the better pick

The application gets sent. You don't have to open each form, check it and press the button, because once you approve a job our AI does that part.

You get a record of it. Each confirmed application has a saved confirmation. A job you dragged to Applied is only as accurate as your memory.

It won't guess about you. Whether you need sponsorship, or want to disclose a disability, comes from what you've told us, and if you haven't said, it takes the decline option on the form or asks.

And $19 a month for up to 200 applications costs less than Huntr Pro's $40, though Pro is buying a different thing.

Bottom line

If you want a free tracker with autofill and you don't mind pressing submit on every form, Huntr is a good choice and its ratings back that up.

If you'd rather the applications went out and came back confirmed, try Apiva on 25 free applications a month, no card.

Thinking of Huntr Pro for a longer search? The quarterly plan is $30 a month against $40 on monthly. Only take it if you expect to be searching for the full three months, since cancelling just stops the next renewal.

Try it

Approve the jobs. We’ll get them applied to.

The free tier is 25 applications every month, no card. A credit is only spent when a submission is confirmed, so a failed application costs you nothing.

applications confirmed submitted so far. That number is live, and it only counts applications an employer actually received.
